Reasons:

Faulty components can lead to black screen. For example, motherboard, IO board, graphic card, damaged LCD, loose cables, hard drive, operating system update, etc. 

What we do:

If any of the components fail, our technician will first run a diagnostic test on the device using an external monitor. Normally the diagnostic test will take 1-3 days depend on the issue. However, it may take longer to find out the faulty parts since most likely we need to test all of the components. Once we have the diagnostic report, we will provide all the details and give you a quote for repair. 

Reasons:

Blue screen could caused by both hardware and software. For example, new installed external device, overheat, failure hardware, loose cables, outdated operating system, new operating system, etc. 

What we do:

If any of the reasons causes blue screen, our technician will first run a diagnostic test on the device. Normally the diagnostic test will take 1-3 days depend on the issue. However, it may take longer to find out the faulty parts if the problem is on the motherboard. Once we have the diagnostic report, we will provide all the details and give you a quote for repair. 

Two common reasons we encounter these days and the solution we provide to our customers:

1. Corrupted or missing system files: There are corrupted or missing files on a customer's computer that lead to blue screen, possibly caused by virus or malware. We help customer back up their files, perform a virus cleaning plus overall checkups, reinstall and/or update operating system, and then restore their files back to the computer.

2. Overheating: A device that is overheating can lead to system crash and blue screen. We help customers clean up the build-up of dust on the computer fan, and then reapply thermal paste. 80% of the chance the problem get solved. If not, the fan may need to be replaced. We help customer back up their files, perform a virus cleaning plus overall checkups, reinstall and/or update operating system, and then restore their files back to the computer.

Computer hinges could be easily broken over time. For example, physical damage, mechanical issue, etc. 

What we do:

If any of the reasons causes your computer hinges broken, our technician will first take a quick look from the exterior and determine if it's repairable or not. Once we check out the device, we will provide all the details and give you a quote or options for repair. Here are two options we provide to our customers:

1. Hinges are repairable. Normally the diagnosis takes 1-3 days depend on the level of repair. If it requires more advanced repair, it may take longer to get it fully fixed (possibly additional 3-4 days).

2. Hinges are not repairable. In this case, we may need to order parts from our suppliers. Once the parts have arrived, we replace hinges for customers. *The process time may vary depends on the carrier.

Keyboard issue could caused by both hardware and software. For example, dusty, settings, new installed apps, water damage, loose cables, short circuit, broken hardware, outdated operating system, virus , etc. 

What we do:

If any of the reasons causes computer keyboard not working, our technician will first run a diagnostic test on the device. Normally the diagnostic test will take 1-3 days depend on the issue. However, it may take longer to find out the faulty parts if the problem is on the motherboard. Once we have the diagnostic report, we will provide all the details and give you a quote for repair. 

Two common reasons we encounter these days and the solution we provide to our customers:

1. Water damage. This is one of the most common reasons when it comes to keyboard issue. When liquid is spilled on the keyboard, it may have slipped in under the keys and reached the motherboard. You may feel the keys/ trackpad are sticky or not responding. In this case, we first disassemble and clean up the keyboard, trackpad and the motherboard. It may take more time if a corrosion is spotted on the board. 80% of the chance the keyboard issue can be fixed by cleaning and repairing the board. If not, we help customers replace the keyboard or trackpad. 

2. Motherboard issue. Another common reason of a keyboard issue is having some faulty components on the motherboard. In this case, we will test and inspect all of the components that are connected to the board. For example, it could be loose cables, broken connectors or short circuit on the board. It may take longer (3-4 days) for us to examine the board, but do not worry, we will provide all the details and give you a quote or options for repair. 

Reasons:

Faulty battery could be caused by both hardware and software. For example, heavy applications, system settings, corrupted firmware, faulty driver, physical damage, etc. 

What we do:

If any of the reasons causes computer battery failure, our technician will first run a diagnostic test on the device. Normally the diagnostic test will take 1-3 days depend on the issue. However, it may take longer to find out the faulty parts if the problem is on the motherboard. Once we have the diagnostic report, we will provide all the details and give you a quote for repair. 

The most common reason we encounter these days and the solution we provide to our customers:

A defective/ old/ damaged battery is in the computer. Sometimes we even handle a swollen battery that starts bending the motherboard. In this case, we recommend to replace it for customers' safety and better performance on their laptop. We may need to order batteries from our suppliers. Once the batteries have arrived, we replace the battery for customers. *The process time may vary depends on the carrier.

Reasons:

Flickering screen could caused by both hardware and software. For example, hardware physical damage, screen connection, damaged LCD, incorrect screen settings, loose cables, damaged display driver, outdated operating system, etc. 

What we do:

If any of the reasons causes flickering screen, our technician will first run a diagnostic test on the device. We will start from examining the screen itself to see if there is any external crack or internal crack on the LCD panel. If not, we test the motherboard and other components to determine the issue. When it comes to screen problem, most of the time it can be fixed by replacing the LCD panel only. We are one of the few repair stores who offer replacing LCD panel. It is considered a time-consuming work (2-3 days) but more affordable for our customers. Or, we offer one-day service to replace the whole assembly if you are in a rush, which may be more costly. But do not worry, we will provide all the details and give you a quote/options for repair.
