  • How much is your diagnosis fee?
    It's free! We offer a free diagnostic check for you, giving you an idea of the issues you encounter with your computer. After the diagnostic test we will provide you all the details and quotes for the repair. We will contact you before we proceed to the repair. If it's not fixed, no charge!
  • Why shouldn't I just buy a new computer?
    With the increasing rate of E-Waste, we encourage you to repair your computer if something's malfunctioning. We will give you the best options during the free session of consultation. Sometimes all you need is an upgrade of the hardware and you could use your computer for another few more years. We can also help you find an affordable second hand computer if you are interested. It may take a few days to weeks to find the right fit. If you are looking for a brand new computer, we can also help you locate one based on your needs as we become one of Lenovo partners.
  • How long will it take to repair my computer? (Motherboard repair)
    It can take from 1-2 days to a week depending on the issues on your computer. Motherboard repair is a difficult type of repair considering it requires advanced tools an years of experience. And sometimes there are unforeseen issues during the repair that could jeopardize the repair, but we will do our best to finish the job as soon as possible. Here is an example of an unforeseen issue: Issue: computer cannot boot up Diagnosis: shorts on the motherboard, need to identify the source Process: A technician tests all the components on the motherboard and starts to repair the shorts. The motherboard is fixed and the technician finds out the faulty battery is causing the short on the board, which further leads to no power. In this case, the technician communicates with the customer and provides options for replacement.
  • Will I lose any of my documents, pictures or other data when you repair my computer?"
    The protection of your data is the first priority at BC Computers. We will only access to your files when requested. We do not store any of your data for your privacy purpose. If there is a problem with the hard drive, we can help you back up and transfer your files.
  • Why do I have to drop off my computer to fix it?
    We offer a free diagnostic check for you only in the store. Normally it takes 1-3 days to finish the scan and evaluation. We will provide all the details and quotes regarding your computer after the diagnosis. Most of the services we provide including software update and hardware upgrade require more time and more procedures. But do not worry, your computer data protection is our first priority and we can back up your files if requested.
  • If I need my job completed right away, is that possible?"
    Same day service is one of our main services. If you bring your computer in before 12:00PM, there is a chance you can get your computer fixed at the end of the day. But same day service really depends on the type of computer you have and computer issues. Our technician will inform you if it’s possible to be finished on the same day.
  • What do I need to bring with me when dropping off my computer?
    Bring all the devices or items you have issues with (ex: graphic card, fan, motherboard) and most importantly your computer and the charger when you visit our store. (If you are a MacBook user, you don't need to bring your charger unless you think the charger is the issue to your computer)
  • Do you have pick up and drop off service?
    Yes, we do offer pickup and drop off service and it's totally free! All you have to do is go to book online/ free pickup, drop off and select a date and time, or give us a call and we can schedule a time for you!
  • Do I need an appointment to bring in my computer for repair?
    No! It's not neccessary to book an appointment. You can just bring in your computer to our store. First come first serve, but if you are in a rush, we do offer quick service or same say service. If you need onsite sevice, you could call us or book an appointment online.
  • Do you repair cellphones?
    Yes, we do repair cellphones. We can help you set up your mobile devices and backup your files/ pictures/ contacts or perform screen replacement, battery replacement or repair charging port, etc. We do not sell accessories at the moment but we are planning to do so in the near future.
  • Do you have parts for sale?
    We only sell the parts and service altogether. For example, if you are looking for a battery replacement, we don’t sell the battery individually, we install it for you.
  • I need to buy a new computer, what are your recommendations?"
    We offer a free consultation for you to discuss what computer best fits your need such as model, brand, storage or speed. We are selling a selection of second hand computers and brand new ones in store so we may be able to help you find your ideal computer faster if you are interested.
  • Do you offer a rental laptop while mine is being fixed?
    Yes we do offer rental laptops for those who need to use computers for work or for school. We understand how frustrating it must be for you to run into computer issues, hence we try our best to help you.
  • How long will it take to repair my computer? (General)
    We offer same-day services for certain type of repairs depending on the issues. Mostly it takes 1-3 days to diagnose the issue and additional 2-3 days for repair after the completion of diagnosis. There are situations where the repairs may take longer than expected such as when parts have to be ordered, especially some parts for older computers are not always available. So in some cases it may take a few days to weeks to find the right OEM parts for you.
  • I accidentally deleted some files, is there anyway to retrieve my files back?"
    Yes, we can help you retrieve your files by running a data recovery program. Most of the time your documents are recoverable just the exact estimated time is hard to tell. Sometime when the hard drive is corrupted, it takes longer to scan and recover the drive.

  • Do you build costom computers?
    Yes, we can definetely help you build a new computer using the high quality parts and components based on your need. We will assenble and set it up for you to pick up. Feel free to contact us for mure details and we will be happy to discuss more of your costom build!

    Yes, we provide all kind of services from computer repair, onsite service, network setup, to IT support. We also provide monthly subscription for businesses as we know it’s always a headache to look for a repair shop every time when a computer breaks down.   • How much will it cost to repair my computer?
    We cannot confirm the repair price until we have performed a diagnostic check to fully evalute the issues you are having with your computer. We offer a free consultation and a free diagnostic check to determine the issues. After that, we will present you with an estimate of what needs to be done and what the repair cost will be. If the issue is related to your computer's motherboard, the final invoice may be higher due to unforeseen faulty parts that surface during repairs, but we will always contact you to authorize the additional charges prior to performing the additional work.
  • How did my computer get a virus?
    The most common ways a virus get into your system are through downloads from unsafe websites. It can also come from a suspicious link in emails or visiting a compromised website. If you have concerns that your computer has been compromized, we can help you with virus cleaning and fresh installation.
  • How can I prevent my computer from getthing infected in the future?
    There are six simple tips that may help you have a better idea of how to spot a virus on your computer. 1. Install antivirus software 2. Be cautious with email attachments 3. Regularly update your operating system and applications 4. Avoid suspicious websites 5. Be cautious when downloading anything for free. 6. Backup your computer
